How could a glass object produced with the common look of beach sand?

I wonder what glass made from sand of Coney Island Beach, for example, would look like. It's the impurities so that you can not create an object glass, with this sand?

You can create a perfect cup well with the sand, only it would be mostly cloudy and a mixture of corn syrup with maple syrup and butter. If only the heat and fuse this arena, not create clear glass, nice that is used. It would look and feel like hard rock maple butter frozen.
